The 2024 5th Edition of the Muziris Century Challenge celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the ancient port city of Muziris. Every year, over 100 enthusiastic riders from across India and beyond embark on this extraordinary journey, exploring the historical landmarks of Muziris while embracing the spirit of cycling.

The carefully designed 100km route takes participants through heritage-rich locations, starting from the iconic lands of Cherai, traversing the Jewish Synagogue at North Parur, the Paliyam Palace at Chendamangalam, Muziris Lakeshore Park in Kottappuram, Mala, and returning to the starting point. This event is not just a ride but an opportunity to connect with history, showcasing Muziris's prominence as an ancient hub for trade and cultural exchanges between South India, Persia, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Mediterranean region.

Participants are rewarded with medals, certificates, and free access to Muziris heritage sites, alongside complimentary refreshments at all checkpoints, as well as breakfast and lunch. Known as Muchiri in Malayalam, Muziris is mentioned in classical sources like the Periplus of the Erythraean Sea and Tamil bardic poetry, underscoring its historical importance.
